20th Anniversary - Hublot Big Bang

Twenty years ago, Hublot, inspired by the Big Bang, launched the Big Bang chronograph series. Upon its release, this series captivated the watch industry with its bold design and fusion of unique materials. Its case, combining materials like metal, fiberglass, rubber, and ceramic, along with its checkerboard dial and oversized dimensions, not only showcased the power of cool watches, but also established Hublot's "Art of Fusion" brand DNA. Now, 20 years later, Hublot Big Bang collection has grown into a vast family, encompassing the original Big Bang, the Big Bang Original (commonly known as the Big Bang OG), the tonneau-shaped Spirit of Big Bang, the square Square Bang, and, of course, the most familiar and Hublot flagship, the Big Bang Unico. The new Big Bang 20th Anniversary Chronograph, a tribute to the 2005 model, not only perfectly blends the strengths and characteristics of both the Big Bang OG and the Big Bang Unico, but also incorporates innovations that are in line with the times.

First, the 20th Anniversary Edition Chronograph perfectly reproduces the distinctive layered case structure, retracted lugs, knurled bezel edge, and square chronograph buttons of the original Big Bang Chronograph. While retaining the iconic riveted Arabic numerals of the original Big Bang model, the dial also features an amplified checkerboard pattern. Secondly, after paying homage to the original, the commemorative edition incorporates the most practical and thoughtful features of the Big Bang Unico, such as the quick-release strap and crown with rubber insert. Thirdly, the commemorative edition is perfectly sized. The Big Bang OG Chronographs are 41 and 44 mm, the Big Bang Unico Chronographs are 42 and 44 mm, and the commemorative edition is a never-before-seen 43 mm.

Finally, the entire commemorative edition chronograph series uses the Unico chronograph movement, which is completely different from the first-generation Big Bang chronograph. Hublot's Unico chronograph movement was born in 2010 and has now developed to the second generation. Compared with the first generation, due to the optimization of the automatic winding wheel system and the cancellation of the detachable escapement module that was not very practical, the thickness of the second-generation movement has been reduced from 8.05 mm in the first generation to 6.75 mm today, and finally this commemorative edition watch has a comfortable thickness of 13.2 mm. In addition to the thickness, I think the biggest highlight of the second-generation movement is the addition of the elastic clutch gear, which not only reduces the impact of the gears when meshing, but more importantly, it can provide distinguished watch owners with an unbeatable button feel. This dense, soft and slightly tough feel, I guarantee that you will not be able to stop pressing it after pressing it once.
