Bigger 2020 Omega Constellation Men's Watch

The Omega Constellation began in 1952, but the style of the constellation watch we are familiar with comes from the Manhattan series in 1982. Its distinguishing feature is the four screw-like grippers extending from the top of the case to the dial. The highly polished claws at three and nine o'clock will become the iconic feature of Manhattan. Aesthetically, the claws also played a practical role, firmly fixing the sapphire crystal and washer to the case to ensure water resistance; since then, all versions of the constellation have retained this element.

The previous men’s Omega Constellation replica watches had only two sizes of 36 mm and 39 mm. Now it has been expanded to 41 mm in diameter. This is the largest men’s constellation today. It sounds like a number, but due to its short and angled lugs, the watch’s The wearing effect should not be so great, it is still a formal range. The new constellation is not only larger in diameter. Due to the replacement of the 8900/8901 movement, the 41mm constellation male is thicker, with a thickness of 13.5mm, compared with the previous 39mm constellation male watch (the movement is 8800/8801) The thickness is 12.5mm, and 13.5mm is too thick for a formal watch --- the common problem of Omega 8xxx/9xxx series movements. To be fair, the 41mm constellation still retains the 39mm 8800 movement, and its overall shape ratio will be more coordinated.

In 2020, Omega has cleverly redesigned the men's constellation, leaning along the edges of the case and claws, and adding a reshaped winding crown. The dial of the improved version of the constellation is home to thin hands and hour markers, inspired by the triangular facets of the Freedom Tower in Manhattan. There is also a trapezoidal date window under the customary star mark on the dial. These redesigns were originally seen on the 39mm constellation model and have now entered the 41mm iteration.

The Constellation 41mm watch uses a leather strap instead of the familiar constellation integrated metal bracelet. This is probably the biggest design deviation from the old version of the constellation. The strap is made of crocodile leather and is equipped with an antibacterial rubber lining to provide maximum comfort. It is connected to the case by metal links. I don't quite understand Omega's design concept. Now the size is bigger, but the distance between the lugs is still 24.2mm of the 39mm constellation. It is said that this design allows the wearer to exchange the strap with the metal chain in the 39mm constellation series.
